Chioggia beet canapés

Enjoy these Chioggia beet canapés, an original and colorful appetizer that offers your guests a tasty and refined bite to eat.

Ingredients

  • 1 Chioggia beet
  • 1/4 cup white balsamic vinegar
  • Labneh
  • 1/4 cup water
  • +/- 75 g sugar
  • 1 basil leaf per sofa

Preparation

  1. Thinly slice the beet using a mandolin.
  2. Combine the water, white balsamic vinegar and a little sugar, and marinate the beet slices to soften and flavour (about 20 minutes), then drain the sliced beets.
  3. Line each beet slice with a basil leaf, curl the slice and prick it with a toothpick (make sure to prick the basil so that it stays in place).
  4. Garnish with Labneh, add a little caviar and a few fresh thyme leaves, and enjoy!
